A new football field and a forum for 1000 spectators in Stresa
Project area
The area identified by the Provincial and Municipal Administration for the location of the new Stresa football field is located outside the town, along the route to the Carpugnino toll of the A26 “Voltri-Sempione”, upstream of the road to Locco, near the town of Motta del Santo.
Football field
The field has dimensions of 105 x 65 meters therefore suitable for international competitions. It’s oriented on the north-south axis with an angle of about 30° to the east, values that are different from those indicated by the C.O.N.I. that however fall within the permitted range of variability. The C.O.N.I. standards are followed in the design of the field and the premises serving sporting activities.
Grandstands
The building of the stand is characterized by a curved light roof resting on circular iron pillars that cover the massive wall structure of the steps and services. In order to limit as much as possible the impact of the construction on the surrounding environment, the overall height of the stands was limited, bringing them closer to the level of the playing field and positioning the rooms intended for athletes below on the ground floor located on the parking area level. A local bar, general offices, and ticket offices are also planned.
The stands are located on the west side of the field and have a capacity of about 1000 spectators. The seats are protected by a canopy with a curved steel beam structure and colored metal sheet as the top layer, that covers up to the first row and guarantees perfect visibility eve towards the top of the playing field.
Reserved seats for disabled spectators have been proposed at the base of the grandstand in an easily accessible area from the public entrance with unobstructed visibility of the pitch. The changing rooms for the teams have been sized to allow the use of 20 athletes each. There are 2 changing rooms for referees or match judges, depending on the case, separated by gender. On the ground floor, there is also a first aid and medical examinations room, easily accessible from the outside, as well as a room for doping controls.
